The Brancott Estate Great Home Hack – Fulham Palace London 2015

Over two afternoons I explained and demonstrated my methods of Up-Cyling old, unworn or ill fitting garments from the back of the wardrobe. There were designs for sale alongside the most innovative up-cycled home wares.

Grand Designs Exhibition – London 2015
Attendees of all ages came to Salvage Area of Grand Designs and created unique pieces of stencil art to take home.
Canvases were cut from old curtains and a stencil selection was provided. After choosing a design the students were guided through a process. Spraying paint through lace scraps made subtle intricate patterns on the canvas as a background for a stronger stencilled silhouettes. Then vintage buttons, beads and badges were used to embellish the design.

All the attendees created their own unique versions and those who didn’t finish their pieces at the hour long session, finished them off at home and sent me photos of their work. Some people turned them into cushions and others simply framed them.

Putney High School – London 2015

The workshops took place over 2 days and over 100 students attended. The students were put into teams and helped to design and construct original collections of recycled garments. All the teams presented their creations in fashion shows at the end of each day. There was a very high standard of innovation and the enthusiasm was boundless.
